Big Family Life
Well, this is the page that’s a surprise to all of us. Once upon a time I told my mom I was “never going to have kids”- and I mean at all!!!! And yet, here I am with EIGHT of them. Andrew and I decided to have kids- we didn’t know how many, but were open to four of them. The first 4 were pretty much planned. The fifth was a big surprise! Because the first four got along so well, we didn’t want number 5 to grow up alone, so we had a 6th. By that time, we had learned to delegate better and let’s just say I wasn’t getting any younger-so we decided to have 2 more just to even it out. Sure there are difficulties! But mostly it’s great. And I like creating awareness that not every big family is Mormon or Amish or Homeschool Aficionados. Mostly, I like the results of what happened when we leaned into this unfolding after baby number 5. Of course what started out as tears on the bathroom floor while holding a positive pregnancy test turned into the best thing we could have ever imagined.
