A-Team-Mom Podcast

with Amy Harrison

(Random Tales of Survival from a Mother of 8) Amy is a former English Teacher, turned stay-at-home-mom from California. She now resides in Seattle with her Australian husband Andrew and their 8 biological children together-(translation: just one baby daddy). The family is referred to as the A-Team, because all 10 of them have names that start with the letter “A” (and also because Amy might be just a *little* bit obsessed with the 80’s, having spent a great many hours of her childhood watching a TV show from that decade called “The A-Team”).

The A-Team Members are big travelers; finding new and creative excuses to leave on the school voicemail in order to take full advantage of the perks of Andrew’s job as an Executive at Seattle’s Hometown Airline, Alaska Airlines. They also enjoy slightly inappropriate movies, eating junk food, and participating in cuthroat rounds of Settlers of Catan.

Amy herself is the survivor of giving birth 8 times (yeah, no twins in there), 72 months of pregnancy, an undetermined number of hours breastfeeding, and both the victim and perpetrator of public humiliation on multiple levels. She loves volunteering at school, reading, writing, yoga, and practicing the unlearning and unraveling of everything she thought she knew, in a quest to remain an eternal, open-minded student of personal growth. She also enjoys pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. Wait—just kidding: she misses the CA weather like crazy, and she no longer drinks. But one thing is for sure: She’s a big believer that Biggie and Tupac faked both their feud and their deaths and are secretly living together on an unknown island together in sweet, harmonious friendship.

At any rate, Amy is blessed to have “friendshipped-up” and connected with some fascinating and hilarious people, who are definitely way cooler than she is. Expect the unexpected as they swap stories and share trials, tribulations, life hacks, random thoughts, and sanity savers.
