Five Days In Spain
Barcelona-Madrid-Seville
Barcelona:
Day 1:
Las Ramblas
Looked at the Canaletes (fountains)
Boqueria Market (meat cup/fresh fish/butcher)
Picasso Museum
Lunch
Biked the waterfront from start to finish.
Gelato on the beach after.
Day 2:
Park Guell-benches made of broken pieces but constructed to make your back straight. So I kept thinking “stand up straight in your brokenness”
La Sagrada Familia: one side still being constructed, one side old and actually built by Gaudi so ready for refurbishment
National Palace: Where they had the World Fair in 1929
Olympic Ring
Lunch
Parc de Attractions de Tibidabo (beautiful views, beautiful basilica.) Rides for little kids.
Madrid
Day 3:
Museo Nationale de Prado
Lunch at Museo or Nearby (We also really liked “Ramses”, right by the Museum.)
Walk up to the Grand Via and go left.
Head into the Puerta del Sol area, and pass into the Plaza Mayor.
Stop for churros at Tacita La Plata or La Chocolateria San Gines.
Head over to the Royal Palace and check out all the surrounding areas.
Dinner: we rollled up to the Plaza de Santa Ana and are paella while people watching and listening to live music. Magical!
Seville
Day 4:
Train to Seville.
Very little crime in Seville, no need to worry about pickpockets.
Stay in the Old Historical City Centre.
Plata Espana (Spanish Square)
Chocolate Coissants at the little restaurant
Town Center of Seville by the Tabacco Factory and the Alfonso Hotel (lots of Starbucks around for those not enjoying local food)
Visit Real Alcazar Royal Palace Monument
Tapas lunch
Cathedral of Seville
Panoramic drive or walk through the city, down Paseo de las Delicias. Pass Plaza del Toro (Bull Fighting ring) Queen Elizabeth 2 River, Maria Louisa Park and “Old Seville”.
Day 5:
Stayed overnight in Seville.
Breakfast at cafe outside hotel.
Took “Opera Walk”. Walk through Jewish Quarter. Coffee, coissants.
Walk through Santa Cruz neighborhood. (The neighbored we stayed in.)
Train back to Madrid.
Dinner at Ramses in Madrid, loved the random downpour on our last evening there.
